This discovery was made by Jack Kuykendall in January 2005. It was the culmination of four years of studying, "why there is no proof that a (-)(-)=(+)?"
Jack is a high IQ independent scientist who is not involved with academia. This is why a paradigm shift in math could be discovered. In academia, the thought to look for this error would never have occurred.
